Scope
This policy applies to the Scouting Coffee storefront, account tools, checkout integrations, and council order-attribution reporting. It does not replace the separate privacy policies of Stripe, our roasting and delivery partner, a participating council, or another linked service.
Information we collect
Order and contact information
We may receive your name, email address, shipping address, products, quantities, grind choices, subscription selection, order status, and support-unit preference.
Payment and billing information
Stripe processes payment details. Scouting Coffee may receive payment status, customer and subscription identifiers, invoice information, and limited card details such as brand and last four digits. The storefront is not designed to store your full card number.
Account information
We use your email address, secure session records, account preferences, and subscription references to provide passwordless sign-in and customer tools.
Device and security information
Hosting and security systems may process IP address, browser and device details, request logs, cookie identifiers, and signals used to prevent abuse or diagnose errors.
Scout credit
The storefront displays the troop's available Scout choices using first name and last initial. When you choose a Scout, we record that Scout's identifier and displayed name with your order for fundraiser reporting. Your subscription can keep a separate Scout choice for future renewals.
How we use information
- Process and confirm orders and subscriptions
- Share accepted orders with our roasting and delivery partner
- Provide secure account and billing-portal access
- Record Troop 210 and optional Scout credit for each attributed order
- Prepare fundraiser and Scout-credit reporting
- Detect fraud, protect the service, and troubleshoot problems
- Meet accounting, tax, legal, and dispute-resolution obligations
Scouting Coffee does not use Scout credit as a behavioral advertising profile.
Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide orders and accounts, prepare financial records, handle disputes, meet legal requirements, and protect the service. Different records may have different retention periods. Session and verification records are intended to expire more quickly than transaction records.
Your choices
You can select general Troop 210 support without choosing an individual Scout. When the roster is available, Scout choices display first names and last initials. Your account lets you review recorded Scout credit and change the Scout selected for future subscription renewals. Stripe's customer portal provides available subscription and billing controls.
To request access, correction, or deletion where applicable, call Scouting Coffee support at (803) 530-6920. Some transaction records may need to be retained for accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
The storefront is intended for adults purchasing coffee. It is not designed to collect account or payment information directly from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the published version. Material changes should be communicated through the storefront or account channel when appropriate.
